From retention and engagement, to customer feedback and engineering velocity - there are many ways to judge your team’s success - but with so many ratios and metrics, how can you be sure which one is right to use, and when?
In this session, you’ll hear talks on:
- How to understand your team’s priorities, build alignment, and define goals to ensure success
- Strategies for determining your team’s velocity, understanding when your team is stuck, and how to iterate and unblock your workflows
- Frameworks for looking back at your work and measuring it against the targets put in place, ensuring success against business and technical metrics
- Ways of measuring the human side of success in your organization, on individual, team, and business levels
Session homework
For your homework this week we suggest you turn the results of your group discussion into a concrete plan of action. If you didn’t manage to already, think of a time when your team was ‘stuck’ and consider the following questions:
- What would success look like in this scenario?
- How would you measure or validate that?
- What strategy needs to change and how might you iterate or unblock?
- What is a challenge you’ll need to overcome?
- What resources or support might you need to best facilitate that outcome?
